Moving Through Tough Times
It's easy to curse the universe when times are hard. Instead, here is a way to lean into them and come out the other side stronger. (From a mom who is living through it too.)
It’s only the beginning of February and it has already been a year.
My family lives in a small farming town in Northern California. You would only know of it if you drove the Highway 1 route to or from San Francisco or headed to the Ritz for a round of golf. It’s peaceful, it’s beautiful, the people are kind, and it’s typically uneventful.
However, in January we experienced back-to-back dramatic storms causing devastating flooding and several school closures, a close call with corporate layoffs, a mass shooting leaving 7 deceased (the largest our county has ever seen), and just the other day a 5-year-old boy (my son’s classmate and friend) was attacked by a mountain lion cub while hiking with his mom and grandparents (thankfully he is on his way to a full recovery).
